About the hospital

Originally called „Home for the Poor and Invalid“ when it was founded in 1695, the General Hospital of Vienna was rebuilt in 1994 and covers 24,000 square meters. The General Hospital guarantees medical excellence and is known far beyond theborders of Austria. Together with the Medical University it focuses on teaching, research and patient care. International and local experts develop the Viennese medicine continuously and pass on their knowledge to young people engaged.
